Romans 11:29

A Menorah in front of a Christmas tree at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

Menorah in front of a Christmas tree,
at the Brandenberg Gate, Berlin, Germany.

This image must warm the heart of God as it does mine.  It speaks volumes, more than I can say here.  I ask you to meditate upon all the beauty of the symbolism.  Christians are never separated from their Jewish brothers and sisters; God’s original covenant with the Jews can never be revoked.  We are both members of the family of God, on the way home to the Father.

In A Warm Manager   Leave a comment

We desire to be able to welcome Jesus at Christmas-time, not in a cold manger of our heart, but in a heart full of love and humility, in a heart so pure, so immaculate, so warm with love for one another.” — Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

Little Baby Child   Leave a comment

Sweet little baby child, born in a manger.
Sweet little baby boy, in the arms of Saint Joseph,
            God trusting his creature.
Baby Jesus, poor in spirit, both emptied and filled,
            surrendering to an earthly father
that we may surrender to a heavenly one.
A baby, pure in heart, dwelling among us that we may see God.
Little, like a taste of bread and wine.  God beheld and God consumed.
            God trusting us with himself.
Sweet little baby child, Word made flesh.
