May the Cross Be My Light   Leave a comment

It is with and in the Cross, no matter how heavily it may afflict us, that we attain to the truth about ourselves and others and how God works in our lives. In other words we will eventually see light through the very cross that is present in our own lives.

Suffering can purify us of so much both emotionally, spiritually, physically. It removes our defenses, our pretenses… we ultimately arrive at that poverty and nakedness that will draw God our Father to clothe us and to fill us with his love.

Of ourselves, we cannot…… but with his grace, when life is challenging, demanding, perplexing, and discouraging, we can make an act of faith and pray …

May the Cross be my light.
