Mary’s Magnificat   1 comment

Brooklyn Museum: The Magnificat (Le magnificat)

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he who is mighty has done great things for me
and Holy is His name.

  1. The sacred image of Mary lost in ecstasy as she sang The Magnificat, was completed by James J. Tissot, a French painter (1836 – 1902). This painting currently hangs in the Brooklyn Museum. Click image for link to Brooklyn Museum.
